U3A (Northwich)

The University of the Third Age (U3A) was founded in Paris in 1979 and is now an international organisation. The UK’s U3A was founded in 1982 and there are currently over a quarter of a million members in over 750 branches. This self-help organisation provides educational, creative and recreational activities in a friendly environment. The national organisation for U3A in the UK consists of independent branches run by their members. Membership is open to people over 50 who are not in full time employment.

The Northwich branch was formed in 2000. It currently has more than 20 groups with a total membership now in excess of 400. The main monthly meeting is held on the third Wednesday of the month at 2pm in the Barnton Memorial Hall. The Monthly News Files with list of events can be found by going to the contact page. You can also email them by going on their contact page. A list of their groups can be accessed on the groups page. Then selecting the group name will give more details of the activities for that group. Northwich U3A is a lively organisation - they keep their selves active and enjoy learning in a supportive environment.

Annual membership costs £10. If you are interested in joining Northwich U3A, you may attend one of their monthly general meetings, which can be found on the events page. Please mention at the desk that it is your first visit and a committee member will make you welcome.
