Hartford Choral Society

The choir was formed in 2005, also the opening of the new theatre at The Grange School. Two concerts per year in December and June. Short series of six rehearsals on Monday evenings leading up to concerts. The choir is open to all members of the local community and has been highly successful, with around 250 singers on our mailing list. They produce two concerts each academic year: one in November as part of the World Aids day event organised by the charity Action Aid, and a lighter summer concert, which this year was linked to NSPCC.

A short series of weekly rehearsals leads up to each concert (usually just 6 rehearsals) and singers come from all over Cheshire. There is no subscription; singers buy their own music and pay £10 (£5 concessions) to participate, all of which goes to the charity. Admission is free for the audience but there is a retiring collection which is added to the amount for the charity. Over the three years they have raised around £5000 in this way.
